Getting Started

TripTrekr is your all-in-one travel companion for planning trips, organizing bookings, splitting shared costs, and keeping the whole crew on the same page.

TripTrekr is available on iPhone via the App Store and in any modern browser at triptrekr.com. Your trips sync across devices when you're signed in.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I sign in or create an account?

Tap Sign in with Google or Sign in with Apple on the welcome screen. TripTrekr uses your Google or Apple account for secure sign-in, so there's no separate password to set up. Your account is created automatically the first time you sign in.

How does Google Calendar sync work?

Open Settings → Import Bookings → Google Calendar sync and tap Connect Google Calendar. TripTrekr requests read-only access and imports reservation events (flights, hotels, and similar) that Google adds to your calendar automatically from your emails. We never edit or delete your calendar.

You can disconnect at any time from within the app, or revoke access from your Google Account permissions.

Can I forward booking confirmation emails?

Yes. Open Settings → Import Bookings → Email forwarding to see your personal forwarding address. Forward a flight, hotel, or other confirmation email to it and TripTrekr reads the details and turns it into a booking. New imports appear in Settings as bookings ready to review — approve, edit, or dismiss each one before it's added to your trip.

How do I split expenses with friends?

On the Expenses tab, add an expense with the amount, who paid, and which members it's split between. TripTrekr supports groups and multiple currencies, then shows a clear "who owes who" summary so you can settle up in a tap. Switch to the split view to see the breakdown per member.

How do I share a trip and invite people?

From your trip, tap Share trip and invite people by email, link, or QR code. Each member gets a role — Organizer (full access), Contributor (adds expenses and their own itinerary items), or Traveler (view-only) — so you control who can change what. Members see the shared itinerary and can add to shared expenses.

The free plan includes 1 invitee per trip; upgrading to Pro lets you invite your whole crew.

What is Share & Plan?

Share & Plan is different from inviting someone to your trip: opening a shared trip's link lets you fork its itinerary into a brand-new trip of your own, so you can plan the same route for your own dates.

It's your own editable copy — you never see or change the owner's live trip or their expenses.

How does flight price tracking work?

On the Plan tab, open Price watch and tap Track a fare. Enter your route, dates, and travelers, and TripTrekr will keep an eye on the price and notify you when it drops. Prices come from third-party flight providers and are estimates — always confirm the final price with the airline or booking site before purchasing.

My bookings or expenses aren't showing up. What should I do?

First, make sure you're signed in with the same Google account and have a working internet connection. Then try:

  • Pull to refresh, or fully close and reopen the app.
  • Confirm you're viewing the correct trip.
  • Update to the latest version from the App Store.

If it still isn't working, email triptrekr@gmail.com with your device model, iOS version, and a short description — we'll dig in.

Does TripTrekr work offline?

Yes — trips you've already opened stay available without a connection, so your itinerary, bookings, and expenses are there mid-flight or off the grid. Features that need the network (search, AI suggestions, live fares, sync) pause and pick up automatically when you're back online. Changes you make offline sync once you reconnect.

Subscription & Billing

TripTrekr is free to use, with an optional Pro subscription that unlocks automatic Google Calendar import, unlimited trip sharing (free includes 1 invitee per trip), receipt scanning, PDF expense exports, AI itineraries and recommendations, and higher limits.

On iPhone (App Store)

Pro is billed through your Apple ID. To view, change, or cancel it, open the iOS Settings app → your name → Subscriptions → TripTrekr, or use Apple's Manage Subscriptions page. If you reinstalled the app or switched devices, tap Restore Purchases in TripTrekr's subscription screen to reactivate Pro.

On the web

If you subscribed at triptrekr.com, manage or cancel your plan from the billing section in the app's settings.

Refund requests for App Store purchases are handled by Apple via reportaproblem.apple.com. For anything else, email us and we'll help.

Delete your account

To permanently delete your TripTrekr account and all associated data, email triptrekr@gmail.com from the email address on your account. We'll verify the request and delete your data — including your trips, bookings, and expenses — within 30 days. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

Your privacy

We don't sell your data. For the full details on what we collect and why, see our Privacy Policy. Google Calendar access is read-only and can be revoked anytime.
