Terms of Service

1. About TripTrekr

TripTrekr is a travel companion application that lets you plan trips, manage bookings, split expenses with co-travellers, optionally sync travel events from Google Calendar, and discover travel ideas. The service is provided by Mitul Patel, operating as TripTrekr.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use TripTrekr. By using the app, you confirm that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you confirm you have parental or guardian consent.

3. Account

You sign in with a Google account. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Keep your credentials secure and notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Free and Pro Plans

TripTrekr offers a free tier and a paid Pro subscription:

Feature availability on each plan may change over time. We will give reasonable notice of any material reductions to the free tier.

5. Subscriptions and Billing

Auto-renewable subscriptions

TripTrekr Pro is offered as an auto-renewable subscription, available monthly ($2.99) or annually ($29.99), or the equivalent in your local currency. On iOS, subscriptions are sold and managed through Apple's In-App Purchase; on the web, they are billed via Stripe.

• Payment is charged to your Apple Account (iOS) or your chosen payment method (web) at confirmation of purchase.
• The subscription automatically renews for the same period unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, at the rate of your selected plan.
• Prices are shown in the app before you purchase.

Managing and cancelling

On iOS, you can manage your subscription, turn off auto-renew, or cancel in your Apple Account settings after purchase. On the web, you can cancel from the in-app billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period — you retain Pro access until that date and are not charged again.

Refunds

For purchases made through Apple In-App Purchase, refunds are handled by Apple under the Apple Media Services Terms; request one via reportaproblem.apple.com, as we are unable to issue refunds for App Store purchases directly. For purchases made on the web via Stripe, we offer refunds within 7 days of a charge if you contact us and have not made significant use of Pro features in that period; annual subscriptions beyond 7 days are considered case-by-case. Price changes

We will notify you before any subscription price increase, and for App Store subscriptions Apple will also seek your consent where required. You may cancel before the new price takes effect.

6. Referral Programme

You may earn rewards (such as free Pro access) by referring new users who sign up using your unique referral link. Rewards are granted when referred users complete qualifying sign-ups. We reserve the right to modify or end the referral programme at any time, but will honour rewards already earned. Abuse of the referral programme (e.g. fake accounts, self-referrals) will result in account termination.

7. Google Calendar Integration

The Google Calendar sync feature is entirely optional. If you connect Google Calendar, you grant TripTrekr read-only access to your calendar for the sole purpose of importing travel-related events into your trips. We do not modify your calendar. You can disconnect Google Calendar at any time from your Google Account settings. Our use of Google Calendar data is subject to the Google API Services User Data Policy.

8. Trip Sharing and Collaboration

When you share a trip and assign roles (Organiser, Contributor, Traveller), you control what other users can see and edit. You are responsible for the people you invite. You should not invite anyone to a trip without their knowledge and consent.

9. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use TripTrekr for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' data
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or copy the app or its underlying technology
• Use the app to harass, deceive, or harm others
• Abuse the referral or any promotional system
• Upload content that is illegal, harmful, or infringes third-party rights

10. Intellectual Property

TripTrekr and its original content, features, and design are owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Your trip data remains yours — we claim no ownership over the content you create. You grant us a limited licence to store and process your data solely to provide the service.

11. Third-Party Services

TripTrekr integrates with third-party services including Google (Firebase, Calendar, OAuth, Analytics), Apple (In-App Purchase), Stripe (web payments), RevenueCat (subscription management), mapping and places providers (nearby recommendations), and Unsplash (cover images). Your use of those services is also governed by their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services.

12. Disclaimers

TripTrekr is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that travel data synced from Google Calendar will be complete or accurate. Travel bookings displayed in the app are for organisational purposes only — always verify booking details with the relevant provider.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TripTrekr and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of (or inability to use) the service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

14. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, with or without notice. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. On termination, your data will be deleted within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain it.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the date at the top and, where appropriate, via in-app notification. Continued use of TripTrekr after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of TripTrekr shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
